Description:
We are an Evangelical, Christian organization with a large and growing outreach to at-risk kids in central Colorado Springs. We exist to serve the community practically, through our 2 children’s centers. We have about 50 staff serving 300+ children ages 6 weeks - 13 years old. This is a staff position in a Christian ministry. We are primarily looking for individuals with an active faith in Christ and a life pattern of involvement in their local church and ministry.
DESCRIPTION:
The Assistant Director position exists to help the Director oversee the day-to-day operation of the Infant through Pre-K programs, providing leadership and support to the program staff, and assuring that the program meets the needs of the children and their families. It is a training track for a Director position with Springs of Life. We are looking to hire someone who is interested in eventually being a Director within our organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a heart for seeing kids (and their families) come to know the Lord, as this is our highest priority in all we do
- 3+ years’ experience as a Lead Preschool Teacher in a licensed childcare setting.
- Significant administrative/computer skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment
COMPENSATION
- Starting wage $18 - $24/hr, based on education and experience. Significant raise with additional Paid Time Off (PTO) after Director certification and functioning in Director role.
- Full time, M – F. Schedule TBD. Serving kids ages 6wks - 5 years
DUTIES: The Assistant Director responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the Director to accomplish all tasks required to lead a licensed childcare center
- Contributing to and implementing all center policies and procedures
- Ensuring that the center and its programs meet all State Rules and Regulations
- Ensuring that the center and its programs are safe for children, staff, and others; that equipment is safe, standards of hygiene are high, and safety procedures are implemented at all times
- Establishing and fostering positive relationships with staff, children, and families
- Working with the program Group Leaders and the Curriculum Director to implement curriculum, systems of observation, and record keeping, so that children’s attainment and developmental progress are effectively and regularly assessed
- Working with Program Leaders to coordinate daily and weekly program schedules and program evaluation plans
- Providing direct care to program participants during program hours, as necessary
- Being involved in leading, and inviting children to attend, ministry outreaches such as AWANA, VBS, etc.
