Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Salary Range: $41,600-$57,200/yr

Springs of Life Church (SLC) is following a unique ministry model, and is seeking a Youth Pastor with a heart for evangelism/discipleship, and strong administrative and team leadership skills. The focus of our ministry is outreach to "at-risk" children/youth in central Colorado Springs. This is done primarily through 2 large children’s centers, which exist solely to influence youth and their families for Christ. For this reason, we are looking for a Youth Pastor with a desire to reach youth for Christ, but also some experience with before/after school programs, and summer camp programs.

Our ministry currently has an effective and growing outreach to children ages 8-11. Through this children’s center model we see approximately 150 children/year give their lives to Christ in ministries such as AWANA, VBS, Youth group, Summer Camps, and extended Ranch Camps. Oversight of these existing ministries is this position’s main responsibility.  We currently have few older youth (ages 12-18) in our outreach.  However, we have been strongly led by the Lord to expand our ministries to reach this age group. The new Youth/Children’s Pastor will immediately begin to gather the older children (ages 8-11) with the goal of establishing a strong youth “core” group over the next few years. The ideal candidate will have experience with leading a youth outreach team, or direct experience in a licensed School-Age Program (SAP).

SLC has experienced dynamic growth in it’s programs, impact, staff (currently 65), financial resources, and commitment to it’s vision of reaching Colorado Springs children for Christ. We are searching for a mature/tested, entrepreneurial youth leader with 8+ years experience leading teams.

The position encompasses a combination role of Youth/Children’s Pastor plus leadership over the existing 200 child SAP.

  • Developing the SAP leadership team comprised of the SAP Director and 4-5 Assistant Directors

  • Implementing center and state rules and regulations regarding school-age programs
  • The ideal candidate would have established organizational and administrative skills
  • Primarily responsible for oversight of the leadership team, rather than day to day running of the program.

2.  Youth/Children’s Ministry

  • The successful candidate will have significant ministry experience and a heart for seeing kids come to know Jesus. This is our highest priority in all we do.
  • Building relationships with kids, parents and staff members
  • Oversight of all direct ministry to Youth/Children, including AWANA, VBS, Youth Outreach nights, Youth Group, and Summer Camps, as well as Sunday morning Children’s and Youth Sunday school classes

3.  Shared Pastoral Team Duties

  • Requires a call to ministry evidenced by a lifestyle of discipling, encouraging both Youth and staff
  • Shared Sunday Service Responsibilities with Pastoral leadership team
  • Possible Worship Team leadership role available

  • $41,600 to $57,200 DOE, to start
